High Profile Bed Bugs cases in NYC.

According to articles we found there are several high profile places located throughout New York City that have been plagued by creepy crawling bed bugs. Im sure there are many other retail locations that have had the problem but I am sure they are keeping it hush hush.

The site goes through a list of more than ten different locations such as;

1. Waldorf-Astoria

A guest reported that she had painful bed bug bites. She was then upgraded to a different suite.

2. The Empire State Building

The infestation was found in the staff changing area in the basement.

3. Bloomingdale’s

Bedbugs have been found in its flagship store on East 59th Street.

4. Elle

Bedbugs forced the fashion magazine’s offices to close in late August

5. Times Square’s AMC Empire 25 Theater

Square’s AMC Empire 25 multiplex shut its doors for 24 hours to call in exterminators after customers complained of bedbug bites in mid-August.

6. New York Public Library

Managers denied claim of any bed bugs but took measures to protect themselves just in case there were any bed bugs.

7. Time Warner Center

Offices in Manhattan’s Time Warner Center, home of CNN, Warner Brothers, and Time magazine, fell victim to a bedbug outbreak in August.

8. Abercrombie, Hollister, and Victoria’s Secret

Three clothing retail giants, were all forced to temporarily close shop at heavily trafficked Manhattan locations earlier this year after bedbugs were discovered in the stores.

9. Fox News

They had discovered an outbreak in the cable channel’s Manhattan newsroom. An exterminator investigated the homes of 20 employees, one of which had “the worst infestation he had seen in 25 years in the business.”

10. Department of Health

For the second time in two years, a New York Health Department building in lower Manhattan had to shut its doors in 2009 after workers in the tuberculosis-prevention unit discovered the blood-sucking creatures in their office.

11. Brooklyn District Attorney’s office

Bed bugs have infested the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office, forcing the borough’s top law man to call in some help from a higher authority – The Bed Bug Men.

12. Manhattan District Attorney’s office

This follows infestations at the district attorney’s offices in Bronx and Brooklyn. Crime-fighters beware: don’t sleep at the office.

Bill Clinton vs. Bed Bugs

According to an article found on www.wpix.com President Bill Clinton also had bed bugs infesting his Harlem office.

Howard Stern vs. Bed Bugs

An article by Jessica Pressler for nymag.com states that Howard Stern is fighting off bed bugs also. “Howard Stern admitted on his radio show this morning that bedbugs had been found in his office and limousine. ” Apparently Howard Stern is the first celebrity to admit he has bed bugs. Stern said on his Sirius XM Radio show that the building was treated over the weekend and was 100 percent bedbug free on Monday. He said his limousine also had to be fumigated.
