Cockroaches are long, flat, brown insects. Roaches are insects with simple, small brains. They can be considered to be both solitary insects and social insects. They are one of the hardest insects to get rid of. Cockroaches are flat, quick-moving insects that are active at night.

Cockroaches are generally medium-sized insects, although in some parts of the world they can get quite large. They are basically tropical insects and will do their best to find a home that is both warm and moist. Roaches are omnivorous and will feed on any food source they can find, including organic debris in cracks and crevices. Roaches are omnivorous creatures and will gravitate wherever there are plentiful food supplies. Cockroaches can carry disease, contaminate food, and induce allergies.

Cockroaches can carry many bacteria and viruses on their bodies, but it is not proven that they will transmit disease but it does show that they can carry them. They are known to carry various microorganisms like bacteria, helminthes, viruses and fungi. They can carry bacteria, fungi and filth on their legs and bodies. Roaches are generally known to carry infectious bacteria on their bodies and in their bellies. Cockroaches are known to carry diseases like dysentery, typhoid and poliomyelitis, as well as gastroenteritis.

Cockroaches are known carriers of serious diseases, such as, salmonella, dysentery, gastroenteritis and other stomach complaint organisms. They are also known to spend time in kitchen cabinets. They are a diverse group, but their behavior is known primarily from laboratory studies of household pests. They are one of the most common household pests in both urban and rural areas. In New York and New Jersey they run ramped. Cockroaches are the most common pests in the kitchen.

Cockroaches are considered pests in several ways. It are sometimes considered a suborder, Blattaria, of order Dictyoptera , which BugGuide treats as a superorder. They are classified in five families of the phylum Arthropoda , class Insecta, order Blattodea. Roaches are generally omnivores. Cockroaches are nice, lovely, interesting animals.

Cockroaches are opportunistic. Unlike most animals, they thrive in human environments. Roaches are attracted to warm, moist environments. They are mainly attracted to the food preparation and storage areas in our homes. Roaches are attracted to damp areas and need water to survive. Cockroaches can survive on a variety of foods,crumbs, grease, garbage, cotton and wool fabrics, cardboard and wallpaper glue. Cockroaches can and will feed on a great variety of foods, but they prefer starchy and sugary material.
